What are you most passionate about in children's ministry right now?
 
My greatest passion in Children’s Ministry right now is to train and develop an army of effective children’s ministry leaders. I believe that the lack of quality leaders in Children’s Ministry ultimately causes every children’s department to fall short in reaching its potential. So through seminars, workshops, conferences and one-on-one mentorship, my passion is to train and help equip as many children’s ministry Pastors, directors and teachers to become the greatest leaders they could possibly be in their areas of responsibility.
 
When you train and develop an individual to become a leader at what they do the quality of ministry rises for that department. John Maxwell says it this way, “Everything rises and falls on Leadership”. There are a lot of individuals who are extremely busy serving in Children’s Ministry however there are few individuals I’ve met who see the importance of developing themselves as a leader.
 
The importance of building a team…the importance of duplicating themselves in others or even having the confidence enough in themselves to believe they have the qualities to duplicate themselves in others. The lack of confidence in those who are serving as heads of departments also effects the level of influence the person is able to have in their area of ministry. So developing one’s self as a leader is critical to achieving any level of success in Children’s Ministry. I thank God daily for the opportunity He has given me to be able to train and mentor so many individuals in Children’s and Youth Ministry. What are you doing to greater develop yourself as a leader.
