2010 Children's Ministry Symposium Topics
The 2010 Children's Ministry Symposium Friday November 12 - Saturday November 13, 2010 will feature some of the most renowned Children's Ministry Leaders in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Taking place at Pathway of Life Church 8510 Military Pkwy, Dallas, Texas, (www.pathwayoflife.org) this symposium will renew passion and ignite a fire of excitement in your children's department like never before.
Here is a Sneak Peak at some of the topics we have lined up for you:
1. Involving Youth in Children's Ministry
Strapped for volunteers? Have you considered unleashing the energy of the adolescents in your children's ministry. This generation of teens is ready to make a difference. They're just waiting for an invitation and some direction from you.
2. How to Raise Kids So They Don't
This session will help children's leaders and parents to teach kids to have a "love for church". And as young adults, be transformed into kids who will love to serve the Lord.
3. Bridging the Gap: Transitioning Children into Youth Ministry
Effective (and successful) children's ministries lead children to embrace faith, but what happens when they leave? Believe it or not, many kids aren't transitioning very well into teen ministry. In this ses you'll discover how preteens are changing and what you need to do to prepare them for a faith that lasts a lifetime.
4. Urban Outreach-The Fertile Frontier
In the "unchurched" and/or Urban (city) environment there are new and undiscovered worlds. This breakout session will help you identify and teach practical methods for reaching children outside of your church walls and bring them in from the community.
5. High Impact Media Ideas for Smaller Ministries
Feel the need to upgrade your kids ministry media ideas, but don't have a budget to do so? We'll share some practical ways to upgrade, download, zip and expand your ministry in low budget ways. You don't even need to be a computer techie!
6. How to Bless the Socks Off Parents
This breakout will be loaded with ideas to teach you how to keep parents engaged, encouraged and equipped to be more than role players in the spiritual development of their children, but to be role models in their own home.
7. Eight Keys to How Kids Learn Best
You'll get new ways to use interactive devotions, snacks, crafts and games to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus! Experience how each child has a unique intelligence for learning Bible truths best. Discover ways to help all kinds of learners connect to God and Scripture!
8. Nurturing Babies and Toddlers in the Faith
What can teachers of infants and toddlers do to nurture little ones not only physically and emotionally, but spiritually? This workshop will help nursery caregivers understand developmentally appropriate ways to lay a foundation of faith in the lives of infants and toddlers.
9. Help Me! I'm an Admin!
Maybe you are a creative force, an effective leader, or a relational genius, but let's face it, your administrative skills NEED HELP! Many gifted people are weak at administration. This is not about an organizational system. It's about some conventional ideas to help you achieve and maintain effectiveness.
